Welcome

All Souls is a diverse Christian community at Leichhardt, in Sydney's vibrant inner-west.

Our church includes old and young, working class and YUPPies, PhDs and mentally ill.  What unites us is not what we have in common, but Jesus Christ.

More

All Souls acknowledges that the land of this parish traditionally belonged to the Gadigal and Wangal people, of the Eora nation.

Coming Events & News
In between Rectors
Following the resignation of our Rector, Tim Foster, we are currently 'between Rectors'. Our Nominators are working hard and are hoping to find a replacement by the middle of the year. David Crain, a former Rector of All Souls, will be the Locum Minister.

Our Student Minister is Osea Taito.

Our new Rector is arriving in September!
Darren Hindle will become our Rector on Thursday September 24 at 7.30pm.

Darren is originally from Sydney but comes to us from Hong Kong via Canada and the US!  He has very diverse experience, including a focus on Youth Ministry, which is one of the key areas we are wanting to develop as a parish.

Darren gained his Bachelor of Theology degree at Sydney Missionary and Bible College in 1996 and then worked for eight years at St. John's, Shaughnessy in Vancouver, one of the largest Anglican churches in Canada. His role was Director of Ministry Training. Then followed a time as Naval Chaplain at HMAS Waterhen in Sydney before heading off to Hong Kong on the staff of St. Andrew's, Kowloon. The Rectors of Shaughnessy and of Kowloon - David Short and John Menear - are well known Sydney clergy leading important congregations in their cities. Darren will become our Rector on Thursday September 24. The service will commence at 7.30 pm. The Bishop of South Sydney, Robert Forsyth and the Mayor of Leichhardt, Jamie Parker, will be present.

Darren is married to Sarah and together they have 3 boys.  Oscar who is 5 was born in Canada; Felix who is 3 was born in Sydney and Solomon, 16 months who was born in Hong Kong.  A very international family!

Recent Events
All Souls Voted Number 1 Church in the Inner West!!!
The Inner-West's alternative media newspaper, "The Hub" recently featured a "Best of" edition. It included everything from the best pizza to the best hairdresser. And, it included the "best Church". Which was us!!!

Of course, the editor hasn't attended a service, but she liked our signs, approach to the community, fair trade ministry and apology to the stolen generation.

I'm sure that there are many churches that are bigger and better, but the recognition was nice!

Fair Trade Fair
First and Third Saturdays 10.00am to 12.30pm
Every first and third Saturday of the month in the All Souls Cafe.
