Most of us are familiar with the music of Bach. But what’s not so well known is how it was originally performed.
Bach’s many church Cantatas were written specifically for use in Sunday services, aiming to facilitate a deep reflection on the teaching of Scripture and lead listeners toward practical and moral application. Only within a church service can a Cantata truly be ‘performed in context’.
It’s just like Bach’s original audience experienced it almost three hundred years ago, an event modern music lovers will not want to miss.
